It is our honor and pleasure to invite you to the Second International Symposium, “Advanced Technologies in Laboratory Medicine: Connecting Science and Clinical Practice,” which will be held on November 29, 2025, at the Zrinjevac Hall, KB “Sveti Duh,” Sveti Duh 64, Zagreb.

In recent decades, we have witnessed the expansive development of laboratory medicine, and what is considered routine today was only part of scientific research a few years ago. Therefore, the synergy between science, laboratory medicine, and medical-laboratory diagnostics forms the foundation of today’s indispensable healthcare diagnostics, enabling us to improve and implement new diagnostic procedures in the near future, with the goal of treatment and health preservation.

The aim of the Symposium is to bring together scientists, physicians, and biomedical laboratory professionals to exchange results on the latest achievements, advanced techniques, and methods. Our intention is to encourage reflection and planning for the introduction of the latest diagnostic procedures that will improve the healthcare system and medical services. What advantages and challenges does science present to diagnostics, and how can we overcome them to ensure the quality and excellence that we nurture and strive for in the future?

The symposium will feature invited lectures from prominent Croatian scientists, experts in laboratory medicine, and laboratory diagnostics, who will provide an overview of research activities, advanced diagnostic methods, and systems for the highest level of organization and quality assurance in the work of diagnostic laboratories.

The symposium is organized by the Society of MSc in Biomedical Laboratory Science, in collaboration with the Croatian Society of Histo and Cytotechnologists of the Croatian Association of Laboratory Medicine, and the University Hospital “Sveti Duh.”
