We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our second scientific symposium, which brought together distinguished professors, scientists, healthcare professionals, and invited guests on November 29, 2025 at University Hospital ”Sveti Duh”. The event fostered a strong atmosphere of collaboration and knowledge sharing. This year, we organized the symposium through the Society of Masters of Biomedical Laboratory Science and the Croatian Society of Histo- and Cytotechnologists of the Croatian Association of Laboratory Medicine, in cooperation with the University Hospital ”Sveti Duh”.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their contributions, active engagement, and the high level of discussion that enriched the program. We were especially honored by the presence of our invited speakers, whose expertise and participation added exceptional value to the event.
Our symposium was supported by the generous contributions of our sponsors — AandB, Biognost, and Jadranski naftovod/Janaf — whose commitment was essential to the realization of the Symposium.
We also express our sincere appreciation to the Clinical Hospital Sveti Duh for co-organizing the event and for providing the beautiful venue in which the symposium was held. We thank the Hospital Director and the Head Nurse, Tanja Lupieri, MSc, for their support. They were represented by, Dinka Palatinuš, MSc, who conveyed their greetings on behalf of the hospital leadership.
Furthermore, we extend special thanks to our friendly association, Udruženje laboratorijskih i sanitarnih zdravstvenih stručnjaka, for professional dialogue and collaborative spirit of the Symposium.
Our scientific program opened with a lecture by Professor Neven Žarković, who delivered his final public presentation before his announced retirement. We express our deep gratitude for his willingness to share his expertise on this meaningful occasion.
Throughout the day, participants presented high-quality scientific contributions and engaged in insightful discussions. The expertise of all lecturers significantly enriched the program. We also gratefully acknowledge the institutional support of the City of Zagreb and the Croatian Chamber of Health Professionals.
As part of the closing session, we presented the Best Poster Award.
This year’s award was granted to “Application of Real-Time PCR Method for the Identification of Periodontopathogenic Bacteria in Patients with Periodontitis”, authored by Nina Kalajžić, MSc BMS. We warmly congratulate the award recipient and extend our appreciation to all authors who presented their work.
Following the official program, we invited participants to an informal gathering at Ban Josip Jelačić Square and Zrinjevac Park, providing a relaxed setting for continued conversation, networking, and reflection on the day’s achievements.
This year’s symposium concluded with our sincere thanks to all attendees for their enthusiasm, dedication, and exceptional engagement. We look forward to future events that will continue to strengthen professional connections and promote the exchange of knowledge within the scientific and healthcare communities.
